Winter is Here

Winter has arrived in metro Kansas City. Two days ago it was 70 degrees. Yesterday, it dropped to the low 30s with freezing rain and sleet. Today, it hovered around 17 degrees and this afternoon the snow moved in. I live in the southeast Kansas City metro area where they are predicting 4 to 8 inches of snow. Farther southeast, they may get a foot of snow. Up north at the airport, only a trace of snow is expected. It really depends on where you are.

The great thing about this weather is: I’m retired! I’ve no social commitments or appointments in the next few days, so I’m not going anywhere in this. Today, I cuddled up with a quilt on the couch. There was a breeze that evaporated some of the ice. Depending on how much snow accumulates, I may get out and shovel the driveway and sidewalk in next couple of days. No hurry, I’m not going anywhere.
